سیم های شفاف از دو قسمت رسانای فلزی و عایق ساخته می شوند. قسمت رسانای فلزی باتوجه به کاربرد از دو جنس مس و آلومینیوم می باشد. لایه ای که به عنوان عایق روی سطح هادی روکش می شود عمدتا از جنس پی وی سی می باشد. انعطاف پذیری، براقیت و شفافیت از ویژگی های بسیار مهم این مواد می باشد.
